Classic Spaghetti
I’ve tried many a spaghetti recipe and none were just right until this one! It’s my very favorite!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, diced
3 cloves of garlic, mined
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 pinch of red pepper flakes
1 pinch of sugar
1- 28 ounce can diced tomatoes
2- 15 ounce cans of tomato sauce
1 can of tomato paste
1 pound of spaghetti noodles
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft and translucent. Next, add diced garlic and cook for one minute. To that, add ground chuck and season the meat with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Cook until browned. Drain if you feel there is too much fat from your meat. Add the cans of diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Add in the pinch of sugar and a large splash of red wine, stir, cover and reduce heat to low for at least thirty minutes. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. When the water has reached a boil, add the pasta and some olive oil and cook as directed on the box. Drain the pasta and toss with the sauce (when sauce is finished). Serve with freshly grated parmesan.
*I prefer to let my sauce simmer on low for 2-3 hours. At minimum, it needs thirty minutes if you’re in a pinch!
