Dry Rub Ingredients:
1/4 cup of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of chili power
2 teaspoons of paprika
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of dry mustard
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon of garlic power
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper
BBQ Sauce Ingredients:
2 teaspoons of olive oil
1/2 cup of onion, finely diced
1 clove of garlic, minced
1/2 cup of cider vinegar
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of molasses
2 tablespoons of spicy mustard
1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons of chili powder
Country Style Ribs Ingredients:
1 pound of country style ribs (bone in or out)
1/2 cup of apple juice, soda, or water
Dry rub
BBQ sauce
Directions:
Dry rub: Mix the seasonings together and coat the ribs.
BBQ sauce: Mix all ingredients in a saucepan. Heat to boiling and let boil until thickened. I store mine in a Ziploc and typically make it the night before needed.
I use bone out country style ribs, but if they are bone in it works just as well. The bone will slide out when they are done cooking. I coat my ribs in the dry rub. I use all of the seasoning in a Ziploc and let it sit overnight in the fridge. I place my ribs into a crockpot and pour the apple juice about half way up the ribs Cook the ribs on low for 8 hours+. When you remove the ribs from the crockpot, they will likely fall apart or off the bone. Toss your rib meat in the sauce. You can eat them just like this, but I like to put mine in a pan or dish and heat in the oven at 350 for 10-15 minutes to let it get a little crispy! Serve with mashed potatoes, veggies, salad, anything!
